Niemniej, podczas gdy grupy złoczyńców działają w zorganizowany sposób Straż Miejska coraz częściej znajduje się w pozycji wyjętych spod prawa. Mieszkańcy miasta nie darzą strażników sympatią. The City Watch are the closest thing to city authorities Cadavonne has.
They can be seen patrolling city streets, raiding the illegal trade spots and disbanding suspicious gatherings. In this city of anarchy they are the ones, who actually try to fight the crime, even if the motives of each individual are not always noble. As the bands of outlaws in the city take more and more organised structure the City Watch become almost a rogue grop. They are not loved by the citizens as well, since they collect taxes - extremely unpopular action.
Some of the City Watch are veterans, who served for many years already. They still remember the Watch taking orders from the Duke himself. There are others, who serve just because they want to be part of the group holding some power or who hope to gain some goods while collecting taxes. The overall picture is a band of different characters, more of them rather bitter than merry, still able to enjoy a good fight and never denying a good drink.
The City Watch is led by captain Giovanni di Giaveno and parted into two teams, each of them led by a sergeant. The City Watch sniper forms the team of his own; he will not work with anyone else and takes orders from the captain alone.
